Two people are holding hands and each has a ring on their finger.

An easy approach to offering Fairtrade Gold to your clients is now available. Create your own design with the Fairever Ring Designer and order easy and directly the perfect Fairtrade Gold Ring for your client.

We know that jewelers who think about working with Fairtrade gold often have the impression that it is costly and laborious to switch production to responsibly mined and ethically acceptable materials. In fact, many goldsmiths and jewelry makers will have to install an additional workbench in order to guarantee the physical traceability of Fairtrade gold.

→ By ordering ring blanks made from Fairtrade gold, no separate production line is necessary anymore.

To enable all goldsmiths and jewelry retailers to offer their customers a sustainable alternative for wedding rings, Fairever now also offers a large selection of gold rings made from Fairtrade gold in addition to semi-finished products such as gold wire, granules and casting material. Because hardly anything is more important to us than making fair gold as easily available as possible.

→ You will get ring blanks and finished rings with Fairtrade logo.

And the best of all: you don´t event need to go through the whole procedure of licensing as a certified Fairtrade or Fairmined dealer. Instead, as a B2B customer, you can easily use the Fairever Ring Designer, customize the ring according to your customers wishes, add your individual pricing markup to the wholesale price offered by Fairever and thereby serve a completely new target group.

You won´t need to obtain your own Fairtrade licence – we´ll manage for you.

Fairtrade Gold: Origin, Certification, and Social Impact

The gold for the rings you can order within the Ring Designer was mined by CECOMSAP in Peru, an organization comprising 10 mining cooperatives in the Ananea district.

The gold is Fairtrade certified, ensuring responsible mining practices. A $2,000 USD premium per kilogram of pure gold is paid directly to the mining cooperatives, supporting improved working conditions, fair wages, education, and healthcare.

Alloy Instructions

The Fairtrade Gold Sheet can be made of various gold alloys most commonly used in jewelry making. We offer a step-by-step guide for goldsmiths and manufacturers on how to work best with our selection of alloys. Please note that only the fine gold contained in our alloys is certified by Fairtrade Standards.

For more information, visit www.fairtrade.net/standard/gold.

The silver in all our alloys is Fairever ASM Silver, sourced from responsibly working small-scale mining organizations in the Global South. The small copper, zinc, and palladium contents are currently sourced from conventional suppliers as we have not yet found a responsible alternative. Our following data sheets were created alongside long-term partners to provide accurate information and content; however, we cannot be held liable for any incomplete or incorrect instructions provided below.

About Fairtrade

Fairtrade is a product seal that certifies gold and silver from responsible artisanal and small-scale mining organizations with the objective of bringing about positive change, promoting sustainable socio-economic development, ensuring environmental protection, and giving everyone access to responsibly mined gold. It is also well known for the certification of other products such as coffee and cocoa.

Fairtrade Gold Logo

The Fairtrade certification system is secured by independent, accredited auditing organizations such as FLOCERT. The entire supply chain is audited, including all companies working with and making claims about Fairtrade Gold and Fairtrade Silver, from the mine to all the finished pieces of jewelry.

Benefits for mining communities:

  • A guaranteed minimum price of 95 % of the London Bullion Market price for gold and silver (Fairever even pays 97 % to 99 %!)
  • A premium for better living and working conditions and community development
  • Investment in organizational and social development and environmental protection

Fairtrade’s website provides detailed information about the “Fairtrade Standard for Gold and Associated Precious Metals for Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining” and its benefits for artisanal and small-scale mining organizations.

The prices shown, like all other prices on our website, are net wholesale prices for our B2B customers. Selling to your customers, you can add your individual mark-up.

Our pricing consists of 3 components:

  1. Current Gold Market Price
  2. Premium
  3. Fairtrade Social Premium

1. Current Gold Market Price

The gold market price, also known as the spot price, represents the current value of gold per ounce traded in the global market. It is influenced by various factors including supply and demand dynamics, economic indicators, geopolitical tensions, and investor sentiment. The spot price serves as a benchmark for pricing gold-related products and is continuously fluctuating based on market conditions.

2. Premium

The premium includes the costs associated with logistics, production, distribution, and marketing, as well as the additional costs that come along with trading Fairtrade gold products, such as auditing costs and separate administration. Ultimately, the premium reflects the higher production costs due to the small amounts of Fairtrade gold products in the market relative to conventional gold products.

3. Fairtrade Social Premium

The Fairtrade Premium is an additional sum of money paid on top of the Fairtrade minimum price for gold, which is directed towards community development projects and initiatives in Fairtrade-certified gold mining communities. This premium is democratically managed by the miners themselves, enabling them to invest in projects such as education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure improvements to enhance their livelihoods and communities. By choosing Fairtrade-certified gold, consumers contribute to empowering small-scale miners and promoting sustainable development within mining communities.

Except for gold bars, our products are only available to business customers such as jewelers, goldsmiths, and manufacturers. Only logged in customers can see the prices of our semi-finished products and the ring designer.

The ring designer offers the possibility to edit up to 4 rings at the same time (wedding and memoire rings). To select additional wedding and memoire rings made with Fairtrade gold, you can select the ‘Add or remove rings’ button at the top left above the 3D visualisation of the rings. Then click on ‘Add ring’ to select the ring type.

In the ‘Add or remove rings’ view, you also have the option of deleting a ring if you only want to order one ring. You can also rename the rings there.

Ring pair function: If the ring pair function is active (tab between the two rings), all settings that are made are applied to both rings. This works for all properties, except in the stone setting area. Choose the stones for each ring individually.

All diamonds offered in the Ring Designer are sourced from suppliers certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC). RJC-certified suppliers are regularly audited by an accredited testing institute with regard to their business practices and raw material sources. In addition to strict compliance with supervisory and legal regulations, this includes respect for human rights and workers’ rights. The aim is to prevent blood diamonds, diamonds from questionable or unknown sources and diamonds from non-transparent supply chains and conflict-ridden regions from entering the trade. Our team at Fairever is aware of the fact that these diamonds do not yet meet the high standards we set for our precious metals. We are looking for more responsible sources of supply and welcome suggestions and ideas.

It´s the CNC turned procedure.

At the manufactury, employment conditions apply in accordance with German labor law. We visited the manufactury ourselves and maintain a very trusting relationship with the factory.

Please find them in the next tab “Alloy instructions”.

There is no minimum order quantity for rings, you can order individual pieces. Minimum order quantities may apply for other products in our store.

The delivery time is 7-14 business days, the shipping costs within Germany are 19 euros. The shipping costs to Europe and the rest of the world are also displayed when ordering.
